Zamalek winger Adam Kaied came within inches of scoring a stunning “scorpion kick” goal in his team’s clash against Petrojet in the Egyptian Premier League on Wednesday evening.
In first-half stoppage time, Mohamed Ibrahim whipped in a cross that drifted slightly behind the sprinting Adam Kaied, forcing the young attacker to improvise. He reacted instinctively, executing the famous acrobatic scorpion kick technique, only for the ball to crash against the crossbar and bounce away.
Adam Kaied stood in disbelief after the chance, fully aware that the effort could have produced one of the most memorable goals in modern Egyptian football. The remarkable attempt quickly drew attention, highlighting his flair and confidence in a high-pressure league encounter. Despite the missed wonder goal, Zamalek had already taken firm control of the match by halftime.
The first half ended with Zamalek leading 2-0, thanks to an early opener from Palestinian forward Oday Debbagh in the 21st minute and a composed penalty from Hossam Abdelmaguid in the 39th minute.
While the crossbar denied Adam Kaied a fantasy strike, his bold scorpion kick will be remembered as one of the game’s standout moments.
