Youssef En-Nesyri will not be moving to Juventus this January after the Moroccan striker rejected a proposed loan switch from Fenerbahce, reportedly due to reservations about the deal’s structure.
According to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, Juventus had offered a €4 million loan with an obligation to buy for €19 million.
However, En-Nesyri is said to have preferred a permanent transfer rather than a temporary arrangement.
Juventus’ director of football, Giorgio Chiellini, confirmed the collapse of negotiations, stating: “En-Nesyri has doubts over the deal formula [loan], so after assessing this case we consider the negotiations over. We will not sign En-Nesyri on a permanent deal.”
Reports from Italy and Morocco now indicate that En-Nesyri is considering a return to Sevilla, where he spent four seasons and remains a popular figure among fans.
Sevilla have reportedly shown interest in re-signing the striker, and En-Nesyri is waiting for a formal offer to materialize.
The failed move comes amid En-Nesyri’s strong form at Fenerbahce and his contributions to Morocco’s AFCON 2025 campaign.
Despite Juventus’ interest, the forward was unwilling to commit to a loan deal, prioritising long-term stability instead.
With the January transfer window closing soon, En-Nesyri’s next destination remains uncertain. What is certain, however, is that he will not be joining Juventus this season, and the Italian giants will now look elsewhere to reinforce their attacking options.
