Juventus are on the verge of completing the signing of Morocco striker Youssef En-Nesyri from Fenerbahçe, with talks now at an advanced stage and only final formalities remaining.
The Serie A club have moved decisively during the winter transfer window and are close to securing the 26-year-old on a loan deal that includes an option to make the move permanent.
The agreement would allow En-Nesyri to remain in Turin beyond this season should Juventus choose to activate the clause.
Transfer specialist Fabrizio Romano confirmed the progress of the negotiations, revealing that the structure of the deal has already been agreed.
Speaking on his YouTube channel, he said: “The agreement has already been drawn up. It will be a loan with an option to buy, which will allow Juventus to keep En-Nesyri for next season as well.”
Romano explained that discussions between the two clubs intensified following a recent visit to Turkey by Juventus sporting director Marco Otolini.
“We are now in the final stages, after Marco Otolini, the sporting director of Juventus, managed to bring positions closer with Fenerbahçe during their trip to Istanbul,” he added.
The deal has been designed to give Juventus flexibility, with no obligation to purchase the player at the end of the loan period.
Romano stressed the importance of this condition for the Italian side, stating: “The format of the operation will be a loan with a non-mandatory purchase option, which is an important condition for Juventus in order to evaluate the striker during the summer.”
Financially, the arrangement is considered manageable for Juventus. Romano noted that the loan fee would be just under €4m, while the club would assume responsibility for En-Nesyri’s wages in full during his temporary stay.
He further outlined the long-term terms being discussed, concluding: “The purchase option in En-Nesyri’s contract will be slightly less than €20 million.
Juventus has currently agreed on a salary with the player and is finalizing the commission details with his agent. The green light for the signing could come this Saturday.”
Juventus’ pursuit of En-Nesyri followed the collapse of earlier talks with Crystal Palace for Jean-Philippe Mateta. According to Romano, the Turin club were unwilling to accept the English side’s proposal of a loan with an obligation to buy, instead opting for En-Nesyri, whose European pedigree and international experience with Morocco were seen as a more suitable fit.
