Guela Doue linked with Leverkusen move from Strasbourg

Guela Doue, the Ivorian-French right-back at Strasbourg, has been linked with a move to Leverkusen in the Bundesliga.

The 23-year-old joined Strasbourg from Rennes in July 2024 in a deal reported at €6m and has a contract with the Ligue 1 club until June 2029.

Doue has started Strasbourg’s only Ligue 1 match of the 2026-27 season, completing the full 90 minutes. He also made four appearances at the 2026 World Cup, starting three matches and playing 77% of the available minutes.

His current market value is listed at €20m, although there is no indication that a fee has been agreed between Strasbourg and Leverkusen. The report does not establish whether negotiations have taken place or whether the German club has made a formal offer.

Doue came through Rennes’ academy before progressing to the club’s under-17, under-19 and reserve sides. He made the permanent move to Strasbourg two years ago and has since remained under contract at the French club.

The potential switch would see the defender move from Ligue 1 to the Bundesliga, but the rumour remains unconfirmed. Strasbourg retain Doue’s registration and are bound by a contract that runs through to 30 June 2029.
