President of the Swiss-Moroccan Alliance Association, Professor Mohsen El Yazid, has stated that Morocco’s hosting of the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) powerfully reflects the long-term strategic vision of King Mohammed VI, describing it as the “key to the Kingdom’s successes” in human development and infrastructure.

Speaking in a press statement, Al-Yazid explained that “CAN 2025” “goes beyond being just an event, to be enshrined within a comprehensive and well-defined national strategy.”

He stressed that the tournament’s outstanding success was not accidental, but rather “the fruit of years of work, vision and stability. Morocco is progressing, and rapidly.”

According to Al-Yazid, the Kingdom’s ability to deliver a tournament of such scale and quality demonstrates the effectiveness of its long-term planning.

He noted that Morocco relied on nine stadiums that meet the strictest standards set by the International Federation of Association Football (FIFA) and the Confederation of African Football (CAF), all equipped with cutting-edge technology and supported by world-class training centres.

He concluded that these investments and organisational choices have enabled Morocco to “reposition the Africa Cup of Nations within the global sports system,” reinforcing the country’s growing reputation as a leading destination for major international sporting events.
