OGC Nice has reportedly opened talks to explore the possibility of signing Cameroonian midfielder Olivier Ntcham, with Samsunspor prepared to allow the player to leave during the winter transfer window.

Ntcham, whose contract with the Turkish club expires in June 2026, has chosen not to extend his deal, creating an opportunity for both the player and interested clubs.

According to sources from Africafoot, Nice has inquired about the midfielder as part of coach Claude Puel’s efforts to strengthen his squad with experienced players in the middle of the park.

The 29-year-old brings a wealth of experience from top European leagues. He rose through the youth ranks at Le Havre before spells at Manchester City and Celtic, and has also represented Swansea City in the English Championship.

Ntcham’s career has combined domestic and continental exposure, making him an attractive option for clubs seeking a versatile and seasoned midfielder.

Transfermarkt currently values Ntcham at €2.8 million, reflecting his status as an established professional with a proven record.

During his time at Samsunspor, he has made 76 appearances across all competitions, scoring 12 goals and providing two assists, demonstrating his ability to influence games from midfield.

While Nice is actively monitoring the situation, no formal offer has been submitted yet. The club appears to be assessing how Ntcham could fit into Puel’s tactical plans before making a concrete move.

His availability during this winter window offers flexibility, particularly for teams looking to reinforce ahead of the second half of the season.

Ntcham’s decision to seek a new challenge reflects his ambition to compete at a higher level and continue his development in competitive leagues.

Several clubs expressed interest in the midfielder last summer, but a transfer did not materialize at that time, leaving the door open for this winter window.

If the move proceeds, Ntcham would bring leadership, technical skill, and European experience to OGC Nice, potentially providing the club with a reliable option in central midfield as they target success in Ligue 1.
