Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has heaped praise on Ghana international Antoine Semenyo following an impressive debut against Exeter City in the English FA Cup.
Semenyo made an impressive start to life at Manchester City, scoring and registering an assist, as the Citizens cruised to a resounding 10-1 victory on Saturday at the Etihad Stadium.
The Black Stars attacker was swiftly handed his Manchester City debut under seasoned manager Pep Guardiola after completing a high-profile move from AFC Bournemouth last week.
However, the highly-profiled tactician has eulogized Semenyo, while hoping he continues his impressive performance for the club.
“He’s a really nice guy, and in a few actions [vs Exeter] he showed what he showed in Bournemouth and hopefully he can continue to do it here…” he said.
Semenyo signed a five-and-a-half-year deal that will keep him at the Etihad Stadium until 2031.
Born in London to Ghanaian parents, Semenyo started his professional career at Bristol City before loan spells at Bath City, Newport County and Sunderland, further honing his craft.
After impressing at Ashton Gate, Bournemouth spotted his potential and captured his signature midway through the 2022/23 season from where his career has gone from strength to strength ever since.
Before leaving Bournemouth, Semenyo had racked up 10 goals and registered three assists in the Premier League. He will be hoping to maintain moment throughout his stay at the Etihad Stadium.
