Former Mali international Seydou Keita has lauded Morocco for its exceptional organisation of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations, highlighting the tournament as a major milestone for African football.
Speaking in an interview, Keita said what he has witnessed in Morocco leaves no room for envy about how tournaments are organised in Europe.
“African football is constantly on the rise, progressing from one level to the next. Frankly, when we see the infrastructure, there is nothing to envy in the best that has been achieved in Europe,” Keita said in a media statement.
Reflecting on the previous edition in Ivory Coast, he added, “The last Africa Cup of Nations tournament in Ivory Coast was of a very high standard, in terms of organisation and infrastructure. Now, in Morocco, we are rising to a higher level again, and this is a gain for Africa; it is truly an improvement for African football in general.”
Keita’s praise underscores how Morocco’s preparation, stadiums, and facilities are helping elevate the continent’s flagship tournament, setting a benchmark for future AFCON editions.
