Tottenham Hotspur manager Thomas Frank was questioned about Djed Spence’s visibly angry reaction following his substitution on Sunday.
The incident occurred during Tottenham’s disappointing loss away to Nottingham Forest. Frank insisted he did not witness the defensive player’s evident frustration on the touchline.
This latest public display of discontent follows an earlier incident involving the young defender. The behavior has raised concerns about the player’s discipline and attitude within the squad.
Spence, who holds Kenyan heritage, was replaced by Ben Davies during the second half. This substitution came when Spurs were trailing Forest 2-0 at the City Ground.
BBC Sport reported that the dual national defender was openly upset by the tactical change. He reportedly protested the decision as he walked off the pitch. This latest display of displeasure follows a prior concerning event.
Just weeks ago, Spence notably snubbed Frank and assistant coach Andreas Georgson after a home defeat to Chelsea.
Speaking at the City Ground after the match, Frank was pressed by reporters regarding the latest conduct issue.
“You’re the third one that said that to me today. I didn’t see it.
“Of course I will look back to be aware of it. I think there can be three reasons.
“He can be disappointed with his own performance, the team’s performance, he can be disappointed with being subbed off. I’ll ask him about that.”
