Trezeguet Sets Up First Riyadh Goal as Saudi Side Beat Zulfi 2-0 in King’s Cup

Riyadh advanced to the last 16 of the Saudi King’s Cup after defeating Zulfi 2-0 away from home, with Mahmoud Hassan “Trezeguet” providing his first assist for the club.

Trezeguet played the full match in only his second appearance for Riyadh and helped create the decisive second goal.

Leandro Antunes opened the scoring in the 25th minute, converting a pass from Bernard Mensah to give the visitors a half-time lead.

Antunes then doubled Riyadh’s advantage when he followed up Trezeguet’s header and found the net. The goal was initially ruled out for offside, but it was awarded after a video assistant referee review.

The victory sends Riyadh into the last 16 alongside Al Ahli and Al Qadsiah, who also progressed after defeating Al Anwar and Al Tai respectively.

The remaining places in the next round will be decided by the outstanding fixtures.
