Rodri Arrives in Barcelona to Complete Manchester City Transfer and Targets Every Trophy

Rodri has arrived in Barcelona to finalise his move from Manchester City, saying the club’s ambition is to challenge for every major honour.

“It is a dream to be here, we will strive to win all the titles,” Rodri said shortly after arriving in the Catalan capital.

Barcelona have reached an agreement with Manchester City for the transfer of the Spain midfielder, Rodrigo Hernandez, widely known as Rodri.

City accepted Barcelona’s latest offer, reported to be worth more than €60m, after rejecting two previous bids. The first was valued at €45m, while the second rose to €60m.

Rodri joins Barcelona after leading Spain to the 2026 World Cup title, with victory over Argentina in the final. He was named the tournament’s best player, finishing ahead of Lionel Messi.

The 30-year-old is regarded as one of the world’s leading midfielders and played a key role in Spain’s triumph. He also won several major trophies with Manchester City after joining the club in 2019, including the Champions League and Premier League.

Rodri made 298 appearances for City, scoring 28 goals and providing 32 assists.
