Pyramids FC and Ramadan Sobhi consider legal action against Egyptian Football Federation president

Ramadan Sobhi faces another stretch of uncertainty after the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) pushed back its final ruling on his doping case until the end of October.

For the Pyramids FC forward, the decision means more anxious waiting rather than closure.

The case dates back to the 2022 CAF Confederation Cup when Sobhi was accused of tampering with a doping sample. That allegation led to his suspension while investigations began.

Relief came when the Egyptian Anti-Doping Organization cleared him of any wrongdoing, declaring that there was no evidence of manipulation or doping. But the relief was short lived as the World Anti-Doping Agency appealed, taking the matter to CAS where it remains unresolved.

In the meantime, Sobhi is not only battling off-field issues but also working through a knee injury. His club confirmed he will undergo medical checks in the coming days to determine his fitness ahead of Pyramids’ CAF Champions League preliminary round clash against Rwanda’s Army. Fans wait hopefully for positive news both on and off the pitch.
