Ramadan Sobhi returns to lead Pyramids against Auckland City
Ramadan Sobhi is set to take center stage again as he makes his long-awaited return to Pyramids FC’s squad for their Intercontinental Cup clash with Auckland City at the Air Defense Stadium in Cairo.
The winger has been sidelined with a knee injury, and his comeback brings a lift to both the team and the fans ahead of tomorrow’s match.
Head coach Krunoslav Jurčić revealed the squad that will face the New Zealand champions in the opening round. Sobhi’s presence adds spark to the midfield, though the team will be without the injured Mostafa Fathy and Mahmoud Marei.
Pyramids will rely on a mix of experience and energy. Goalkeepers Ahmed El-Shenawy, Mahmoud Gad, and Sherif Ekramy provide security, while the defense includes Ali Gabr, Ahmed Sami, and Karim Hafez. Sobhi joins Blati Toure, Walid El Karti, and Abdel Rahman Magdy in midfield. Up front, Dodo El Gabbas, Fiston Mayele, and Marawan Hamdi will aim to convert chances.
The winner will secure a meeting with Asian champions Al-Ahly in Jeddah on September 23, setting the stage for a high-stakes showdown.
