Pyramids coach Krunoslav Jurčić confident ahead of tough Auckland City clash
Pyramids coach Krunoslav Jurčić is ready for a challenge as his team prepares to face Auckland City in the Intercontinental Cup.
The Croatian coach, leading the African champions, is fully aware of the challenge that awaits against Auckland City tomorrow, Sunday.
Speaking at a press conference on Saturday, Jurčić made it clear that he refuses to underestimate the New Zealand side. “Underestimating the competitor in this way is unacceptable because it is a distinguished team with experience in this tournament several times,” he said. He highlighted that Auckland City also held a long training camp in the UAE and is well-prepared, warning that the match will not be easy.
Jurčić shared that Pyramids’ injury list is limited to Mahmoud Marei and Mostafa Fathi, adding that the rest of the squad is ready. He will select the players best suited for this critical game. The coach expressed unwavering confidence in his team’s ability to navigate this stage and aim for victory.
The winner of Pyramids versus Auckland City will meet Asian champions Al-Ahly of Saudi Arabia on September 23 for the Tri-Confederations Cup.
