Walid Salah El-Din sets firm tone at Al Ahly with six bold steps
Walid Salah El-Din has wasted no time in shaping his vision for Al Ahly, beginning his role as football director with six decisive actions that signal discipline, focus, and ambition at the Red Castle.
His early stance reflects a man determined to create order as the team prepares for demanding battles ahead.
An Al Ahly source told Kooora that Salah El-Din has tripled fines on players who use social media to speak about club matters, while also increasing penalties for defeats. He has already opened contract renewal talks for players whose deals expire this season, ensuring stability in the squad.
The football director has also scheduled talks with Ahmed Abdelkader over his future, stressing the importance of keeping key talent committed. Another move doubles the penalties for lateness at training, paired with an incentive of special rewards if the team achieves eight straight wins.
Salah El-Din further asked sporting director Mohamed Youssef to suspend players’ commercial work, including advertisements, to secure full concentration. His decisions come as Emad El Nahhas takes charge as interim coach following Jose Riveiro’s exit.
