Fans in Egypt are bracing for an emotional weekend of football as the Premier League enters its fifth round, with Al Ahly against Pyramids at Al Salam Stadium standing out as the headline act.

Supporters expect passion and grit as the two heavyweights meet after their fierce title fight last season.

Al Ahly’s Spanish coach Jose Riveiro hopes for a turnaround after a slow start, with just five points from three games. His team has struggled for consistency, but a win would restore belief before the break. Injuries to Emam Ashour, Marwan Attia, Yassin Marei, Yasser Ibrahim, and Mohamed Shoukry leave Riveiro with tough decisions, yet stars like Mahmoud Hassan Trezeguet and Ashraf Bencharki carry the burden of hope.

Pyramids also seek relief under Croatian coach Krunoslav Jurčić after a shaky opening. Without Mohamed El Sheeb and with doubts over Ramadan Sobhi, the responsibility falls on Fiston Mayele and Everton da Silva.

Elsewhere, Zamalek will aim to extend their lead against spirited Wadi Degla. Belgian coach Yannick Ferreira relies on Juan Alvina, Chico Panza, and Adi El Dabbagh to keep momentum alive.
