Lille have reached an agreement with Rangers to sign Moroccan striker Hamza Igamane in a deal worth €12 million, with the 21-year-old poised to sign a four-year contract.

According to reports, Rangers have accepted the French club’s offer, clearing the way for Igamane to undergo a medical before finalising his transfer.

The move would see the young forward join Ligue 1 after making his mark in Scotland.

Igamane has risen swiftly in recent months, catching the attention of European scouts with his performances.

His physicality, versatility and eye for goal have made him one of Morocco’s most promising attacking prospects.

Moving to France, a league noted for its competitive edge and emphasis on developing young talent, is expected to be a major step in his career.

For Lille, the signing fits neatly into their established recruitment strategy of targeting emerging players with high resale potential.

Igamane’s arrival would add further depth to an attack already brimming with energy and talent, while also giving manager Paulo Fonseca additional options in the final third.

Former Morocco international Mohamed Timoumi has cautioned that the striker’s next step will be decisive, saying: Leaving Glasgow Rangers can be a double-edged sword. Despite that warning, optimism remains high that Igamane’s qualities can translate successfully to French football.

Igamane began his career in Morocco before moving to Rangers, where he gained valuable experience in a demanding environment.

His development has been closely followed, with several European clubs expressing interest before Lille moved decisively to secure his signature.

The transfer, if completed in the coming days, would underline Lille’s ambition to remain competitive in Ligue 1 while continuing their tradition of nurturing young talent.

The club is preparing to face Lorient in their upcoming league fixture, though Igamane is not expected to feature until his medical and registration are complete.

The move to northern France could mark the most significant stage yet in Igamane’s career, giving him the platform to showcase his ability at a higher level and potentially establish himself as a key figure for both club and country.
