Ghana international Bernard Tekpetey has outlined his ambition to take his career to the next level, revealing that he hopes to play in England within the next two years.
The 27-year-old has been one of Ghana’s standout performers abroad in recent years. Since moving to Bulgaria in 2020, Tekpetey has netted 41 goals and registered 35 assists across all competitions for Ludogorets Razgrad, while consistently impressing in European club competitions.
Although Tekpetey did not specify which division in England he aims to play in, it is believed that the Premier League remains his ultimate target.
When asked about his plans for the next five years, Tekpetey told Accra-based Asempa FM, “Five years is too long. I am believing in God that in the next two years, I want to be in England, if God permits.”
While he has his sights set on the Premier League, the Black Stars forward is also considering a move to Saudi Arabia as a backup option.
“If it doesn’t happen, I want to go to Saudi Arabia,” Tekpetey said, acknowledging the growing allure of the Saudi Pro League, which has become a popular destination for top players in recent years.
When questioned about the financial incentives of a move to Saudi Arabia, Tekpetey did not shy away from the realities of modern football. “The money is very necessary,” he admitted.
