Ismael Eduardo leaves Moncao for Slovakian club Snina

Portugal-Angola defender Ismael Eduardo has joined Slovakian club Snina from Moncao on a free transfer, completing the move on 13 August 2026.

The 26-year-old operates at left-back and is left-footed. Born in Lisbon, Eduardo has represented both Portugal and Angola as his nationalities, and now begins the next stage of his career outside Portugal with MFK Snina.

Eduardo arrives after one season with Moncao, where he made 23 recorded appearances. He played 19 times in the Campeonato de Portugal Serie A, totalling 1,062 minutes, and added four appearances in the Taca de Portugal, playing 186 minutes in the competition.

His spell at Moncao followed a free transfer from Arronches in July 2025. Eduardo had spent the 2024-25 campaign with Arronches after moving there from Coruchense, also without a transfer fee. That move continued a sequence of free transfers through his senior career, with the defender previously representing Mirandela and Atletico Reguengos.

Eduardo began his senior football with Electrico, joining the club from Aves Under-19s in July 2019. Before reaching senior level, he progressed through the youth system at Damaiense, where he played for the Under-15, Under-17 and Under-19 sides. He also spent time with Casa Pia’s youth setup earlier in his development.

At 1.67m, Eduardo is primarily a specialist left-back and has built his career through regular moves between Portuguese clubs. His arrival at Snina adds experience from Portugal’s domestic competitions to the Slovakian side’s squad.

The switch to Snina is Eduardo’s first recorded move outside Portugal. It follows five consecutive senior club changes since 2020, including spells at Electrico, Peniche, Atletico Reguengos, Mirandela, Coruchense, Arronches and Moncao.

Snina have now secured Eduardo’s services without a transfer fee, with the Portuguese-Angolan defender leaving Moncao after a single season at the club.
