AC Milan linked with Lazio defender Nuno Tavares in fresh Serie A rumour

Nuno Tavares, the Portuguese-Cape Verdean left-back at Lazio, is being linked with a move to AC Milan in a Serie A transfer rumour.

Tavares, 26, has been with Lazio since completing a permanent move from Arsenal on 1 July 2025. The transfer followed a loan spell at the Italian club during the 2024-25 season and was recorded at a fee of €5.58m.

The defender has made 46 Serie A appearances in his career, providing eight assists. He also has experience in the Premier League, Ligue 1 and Portuguese football, having developed at Benfica before moving to Arsenal in 2021.

Tavares’ current market value is listed at €12m, while his Lazio contract runs until 30 June 2029. That deal means any move to Milan would involve negotiations between the two Serie A clubs rather than a free transfer.

He began his senior career with Benfica and won the Portuguese Super Cup in 2020. His career has also included loan spells with Marseille and Nottingham Forest before his move to Lazio.

The reported link places Tavares among the players being associated with a move between two of Italy’s established clubs, although the rumour does not indicate that an agreement has been reached. He remains a Lazio player under contract until 2029.
