Ahmed Hossam ‘Mido’ to make football return with vision club after retirement comeback
Egyptian football icon Ahmed Hossam, widely known as Mido, is set to return to the field after coming out of retirement.
According to sources close to the former Zamalek and national team star, Mido will join Vision Club, a fourth-division team that he recently acquired.
This move marks his unexpected return to competitive football after several years away from the pitch.
Mido’s Vision Club, currently awaiting formal approval from the Egyptian Football Association, has applied to participate in the fourth division for the 2024-2025 season in Giza.
The club will compete alongside local teams such as Al-Haram, Al-Munib, Al-Ahram Sport, and Abu Al-Hol.
Under the leadership of head coach Mohamed Al-Yamani and general supervisor Gamal Hamza, Vision Club has been preparing for this new chapter with Mido actively involved in its development and management.
In a recent appearance on “On Time Stadium” on On Time Sports, Mido confirmed that he would soon hold a press conference to officially announce his new club.
“There will be a press conference very soon in November, where I’ll share all the details about my next steps,” Mido stated.
This announcement has sparked excitement among Egyptian football fans who are eager to see Mido return, this time in a dual role as both owner and player.
The move adds a fresh twist to Mido’s career, marking a unique blend of professional football and club ownership that could inspire other former players looking to remain active in the sport.
With Mido’s vast experience and Vision Club’s fresh ambitions, the team hopes to make a strong impact in the upcoming season.
The press conference later this month will unveil more about Mido’s plans for the club, which could signal a new era for Egyptian football.
