Lameck Banda, the talented Zambian midfielder representing Lecce in Italy, addressed the media, expressing his enthusiasm for the upcoming challenges in Group F of the AFCON 2023.

The Chipolopolos, under the guidance of coach Avram Grant, are set to face formidable opponents, including Morocco, DR Congo, and Tanzania, in a group that promises intense competition.

Speaking to the press during an interview with the Zambian Football Federation in Taif, Saudi Arabia, Banda emphasized the significance of the training camp for fostering team cohesion.

“I’m very excited to join the camp and the guys. It is very important for us to start preparing.

We need to get closer and familiarize ourselves with each other so that when we go to the tournament we are a team,” he conveyed.

Banda, eager to contribute his skills to the Zambian team’s success, outlined his commitment to hard work and expressed his desire to bring elements from his experiences with Lecce to the national squad.

His dedication to making a meaningful impact reflects the team’s collective ambition as they gear up for the continental tournament in Ivory Coast.

Reflecting on the draw for AFCON 2023, Banda shared his perspective on Group F, acknowledging the presence of heavy favorites like Morocco.

Undeterred, he asserted, “The group is fair, and all the matches will be very important for us. It doesn’t matter what team we play.

We are always ready,” displaying the team’s readiness to face any challenge that comes their way.

As Zambia prepares for a friendly match against Cameroon on January 9, the team urges its supporters to rally behind them.

Banda conveyed a message to the Zambian fans, stating, “We urge fans to support us and also those who can come and watch the tournament.

” The anticipation builds as the Chipolopolos brace themselves for a rigorous journey in Group F and beyond at the upcoming AFCON tournament.
