Venezia eye move for Italy-Ghana midfielder Augusto Owusu from Juve Next Gen

Italy-Ghana central midfielder Augusto Owusu of Juve Next Gen is being linked with a summer move to Serie A side Venezia.

The 21-year-old, born in Turin and standing at 1.89m, is currently valued at 600,000, according to Transfermarkt, with the rumoured switch from Juventus second team to Venice still at an early, unquantified stage, with the probability of a deal listed as ?. There is no publicly known contract end date for Owusu at Juve Next Gen, leaving open the possibility he could yet move later in his career as a free agent if no extension is agreed.

Owusu, a right-footed central midfielder who represents Juventus Next Gen at youth level, has spent almost his entire career in the Bianconeri system after first joining Juventus Youth from an unknown club in July 2012. He progressed through Juventus Under-17s before a loan to Reggiana Primavera in 2022-23, returning to Juventus Primavera and then stepping up to Juve Next Gen on 1 July 2024.

His market value has fluctuated over the past two seasons, rising from 50,000 at Juventus Primavera in June 2024 to 800,000 by December 2024 with Juve Next Gen, before settling at 600,000 as of 19 June 2026. That profile, coupled with his dual Italy and Ghana nationality, makes him an intriguing low-cost option for Venezia as they plan for the new Serie A campaign.

The latest speculation follows a notable outing for Owusu on 25 May 2026 in Serie C Girone A, when Juve Next Gen faced Mantova. In that match, which finished 2-1 to Mantova, Owusu started in central midfield, completed the full 90 minutes and was involved in several key defensive actions, underlining his growing status within the Juventus development set-up.

With Venezia tracking a physically imposing, technically trained midfielder from a top Italian academy, any move if it materialises would offer Owusu a significant step up in competition and a chance to test whether his steady rise through the Juventus ranks can translate into a top-flight career.
