Konyspor faced a tough challenge at home against Trabzonspor in the 31st matchday of the Süper Lig, despite the return of Senegalese U23 international Bouly Sambou. Unfortunately for Sambou and his teammates, Konyspor suffered a 3-1 defeat, leaving the former Jaraaf player still in search of his maiden goal in the Turkish championship.

Trabzonspor, currently occupying the third spot in the league standings, asserted their dominance early on, with Mahmoud Trezeguet finding the back of the net in the 19th minute, giving his side the lead.

As the game progressed into the second half, Edin Visća doubled Trabzonspor’s advantage from the penalty spot in the 59th minute. Despite a late surge from Konyspor, spurred by French international Steven N’zonzi’s goal in the 79th minute, Trabzonspor remained resolute.

The match was ultimately sealed in Trabzonspor’s favor when Greek forward Taxiarchis Fountas netted in the 89th minute, securing a comfortable 3-1 victory for Abdullah Avci’s side.

Although Sambou made a late appearance in the match, featuring for the final 20 minutes, he was unable to influence the scoreline in Konyspor’s favor.

With this being his ninth appearance across all competitions for Konyspor without finding the back of the net, Sambou will be keen to break his goal drought in the upcoming fixtures.

Despite the disappointment for Konyspor, Trabzonspor showcased their strength and determination, solidifying their position as one of the top contenders in the Süper Lig.

As the league season progresses, both teams will be looking to capitalize on their performances as they strive to achieve their respective objectives.
