Bevis Mugabi set for new challenge in Cyprus with Anorthosis Famagusta
Bevis Mugabi, the Ugandan international central defender, is set to embark on a new chapter in his career by joining Cypriot club Anorthosis Famagusta FC. This move comes after his contract with Scottish Premiership side Motherwell FC came to an end.
Anorthosis Famagusta has confirmed the agreement in principle with Mugabi, pending the completion of medical examinations.
The club announced, “Anorthosis Famagusta announces its agreement in principle with footballer Bevis Mugabi. The footballer plays as a central defender.
The deal will be activated after the necessary medical tests.”
Mugabi, born in Harrow, England, has built a significant part of his career in the UK. He made 32 league appearances for Motherwell last season, contributing solidly to the team’s defensive lineup.
Over his four-year tenure with Motherwell, he amassed 125 appearances and scored seven goals, showcasing his defensive prowess and occasional goal-scoring ability.
Mugabi joined Motherwell in September 2019 from Yeovil Town, where
