Thierno Barry scores twice as Everton beat Coventry City 3-1

Everton moved up to fifth in the Premier League after Thierno Barry scored twice and set up another goal in a 3-1 victory over Coventry City.

The result took Everton to 16 points after 10 rounds, while Coventry remain 16th on nine points.

Coventry took the lead seven minutes into the second half when Yann Gboho capitalised on confusion in the Everton defence to score his first goal for the club.

Everton responded four minutes later as Barry headed in an accurate cross from Vitalii Mykolenko to bring the visitors level.

Barry completed his second goal in the 61st minute. The ball fell back to him after striking Coventry’s goalkeeper, allowing him to finish into the net and put Everton ahead.

Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall added Everton’s third in the 81st minute, converting a pass from Barry to complete the scoring.

The victory was Everton’s second successive win in the Premier League and moved them further up the table.
