Trabzonspor invite fans worldwide to Turkey after Mohamed Salah signing

Trabzonspor have invited supporters from around the world to visit the Turkish city and attend matches at Papara Park after completing the signing of Egypt forward Mohamed Salah.

In a statement, the club said it was grateful for the messages of congratulations and warm wishes received from across the world, particularly from Egypt, following Salah’s arrival.

“After Mohamed Salah arrived at Trabzonspor, we were truly grateful for the countless congratulatory messages and warm wishes sent to our club from all over the world, especially from Egypt,” Trabzonspor said.

The club added: “Seeing the same feeling of shared excitement today from Trabzon to Cairo, from Alexandria to London and beyond is a great source of pride for everyone at our club.”

Trabzonspor said Salah’s move demonstrated the ability of football to connect people and places across national and cultural boundaries.

“For us, football has never been merely a game between two teams. It can bring cities together. It can build bridges between cultures. It can make thousands of miles seem remarkably close,” the statement continued.

“With its thousands of years of history, breathtaking Black Sea scenery, unique culture and a way of life in which football is woven into the fabric of the city, Trabzon offers a sporting experience unlike any other.”

The club described Trabzonspor as “the heartbeat of this city” and invited supporters to experience the city and its football culture for themselves.

“We warmly invite fans from all over the world to visit Trabzon, experience this unique connection themselves and join us at Papara Park, the home of the greatest club in the world,” it said.

“Wherever you are, our doors are open. Our city is open. Our stands are open.”

Salah has signed a two-year contract with Trabzonspor and has joined the squad for training ahead of the 2026-27 season.

The Turkish club also published a video across its social media accounts showing Salah wearing the team’s shirt.

His arrival has already had a significant commercial impact. Trabzonspor have sold season tickets for the new campaign at a record pace, while shirt sales have surged since the transfer was announced.

Turkish website 61saat reported that the number of Trabzonspor shirts sold in the two days after Salah’s arrival was equivalent to the quantity sold by the club shop across a period of one and a half months.

Trabzonspor said it had sold 18,000 season tickets for the 2026-27 season, setting a new club record. Its stated target is to reach 25,000 season-ticket sales.

The club also disclosed the financial terms of Salah’s contract. He is due to receive an annual salary of 10m euros, alongside a 7m euro signing-on fee, taking his guaranteed total remuneration to 17m euros.

The agreement also includes performance-related financial incentives linked to Salah’s displays during the contract.

Trabzonspor said the player would receive 20% of the income from official products released in his name. The contract details also state that his agent’s commission is 5%.

Salah spent nine seasons with Liverpool before moving to Trabzonspor. During his time with the Reds, he made 315 appearances, scoring 257 goals and providing 120 assists.
