Saudi Pro League fixture reset announced as Saudi cup dates are set
The Saudi Pro League has officially rescheduled three rounds of the competition to allow Saudi Arabia’s squad more time to prepare for Gulf Cup 27, while the Saudi Arabian Football Federation has confirmed the dates for the King’s Cup and Saudi Super Cup.
Rounds eight, nine and 10 of the Roshn Saudi League have all been moved, with the changes designed to accommodate the national team’s extended preparation period and preserve suitable rest intervals between matches.
Round eight will now be played from 9 to 11 October, having originally been scheduled for 17 to 19 September. The ninth round has been moved from 9-11 October to 15-17 October, while round 10 will take place from 18 to 20 October instead of 15-17 October.
The start of round 11 has also been adjusted by one day. It will begin on 23 October rather than 22 October, with the move intended to maintain appropriate recovery time between fixtures.
The revised schedule includes several high-profile matches. الهلال and الاتحاد will meet in the classic at Kingdom Arena during round eight. In round nine, الاهلي will face النصر at Alinma Stadium, while round 10 will feature a meeting between النصر and نيوم.
The league said it would continue working with the Saudi Arabian Football Federation to align the Roshn Saudi League calendar with the requirements of the national team. The aim is to balance the demands of domestic competition with the preparation needed for international commitments.
The Saudi Arabian Football Federation has separately announced the schedule for the King’s Cup. The last-16 ties will be played on 30 November and 1 December 2026.
The quarter-finals are scheduled for 22 and 23 February 2027, followed by the semi-finals on 4 and 5 May 2027. The specific ties for each stage will be determined by the results of the preceding rounds.
Dates have also been confirmed for the Saudi Super Cup. The two semi-finals will take place on 19 and 20 December 2026, with the final scheduled for 23 December.
The announcements provide Saudi clubs with a clearer view of the season ahead as they prepare to manage a congested programme involving the Roshn Saudi League, domestic cup competitions and international football.
The adjustments are intended to reduce the pressure created by overlapping fixtures while ensuring players have adequate rest and that the Saudi Arabia squad can complete its preparations for Gulf Cup 27 under the revised timetable.
