Brazil forward Richarlison is pushing Tottenham Hotspur to accept an offer from Trabzonspor after reportedly reaching a verbal agreement with the Turkish club.
The 29-year-old wants to leave Tottenham and has been putting pressure on the Premier League club to approve Trabzonspor’s proposal, according to Turkish journalist Yagız Sabuncuoglu.
“Richarlison has reached a verbal agreement with Trabzonspor,” Sabuncuoglu wrote on X.
“The Brazilian player wants to move to Trabzonspor and is putting pressure on his club to accept the offer made by the Turkish side. Richarlison wants to leave Tottenham.”
Trabzonspor made an unsuccessful attempt to sign Richarlison over the past 24 hours. It remains unclear whether the club will return with another offer after that initial approach failed.
The report comes as Richarlison’s position at Tottenham becomes increasingly uncertain. The Athletic says a proposed move back to Everton has collapsed, leaving the forward facing an unclear future in north London.
Although the transfer deadline in England has passed, clubs in Turkey can continue signing players until next Friday. That leaves Trabzonspor with further time to decide whether to revive their interest in Richarlison and negotiate a possible agreement with Tottenham.
Trabzonspor have endured a difficult start to the season. They were beaten 4-0 by Hungarian side Ferencvarosi in the second leg of their UEFA Europa League qualifying tie and have dropped five points from their opening three matches in the Turkish league.
Any move would see Richarlison join Egypt international Mohamed Salah at Trabzonspor. Salah moved to the Turkish club following his celebrated spell with Liverpool.
Richarlison joined Tottenham from Everton in 2022 and has faced an unsettled period at the club, with injuries and competition for places affecting his involvement. However, the information reported by Sabuncuoglu centres on the forward’s desire to leave and the verbal understanding he is said to have reached with Trabzonspor.
The Turkish club’s previous approach has not yet resulted in a transfer, and there has been no indication that Tottenham have accepted the offer. With the Turkish window still open, the next stage of negotiations will determine whether Richarlison’s proposed move can be completed.
