Arsenal rescue 2-2 draw against Bayern Munchen in Champions League

Arsenal came from behind to earn a 2-2 draw against Bayern Munchen in an intense and high-scoring third-round meeting in the Champions League.

The Gunners took the lead after 25 minutes when E. Eze finished an attack created by M. Ødegaard. Bayern were forced to respond and levelled before half-time, with A. Davies converting Harry Kane’s assist in the 35th minute.

The German side then completed the turnaround after the interval. Kane put Bayern Munchen in front in the 61st minute by scoring from the penalty spot, leaving Arsenal facing the prospect of defeat.

Bayern appeared to be on course for victory, but Arsenal continued to press for a way back into the match. Their persistence was rewarded eight minutes from time when Declan Rice made it 2-2 in the 82nd minute after being set up by V. Gyokeres.

The late equaliser secured a share of the points for Arsenal and completed an eventful European contest.
