PSG ready to revive Ousmane Dembele contract talks after World Cup
Paris Saint-Germain are preparing to relaunch talks over a new contract for Ousmane Dembele after the 2026 World Cup, determined to resolve his future before the end of the summer transfer window.
The winger is currently tied to the club until June 2028, but negotiations over an extension have stalled in recent months as both sides focused on international commitments.
Dembele, who was crowned Ballon d’Or winner in 2025, has just seen his World Cup campaign with France end without a title, with only a third-place play-off against England left to play. Once that match is over, he is expected to return quickly to Paris, where the extension issue will finally move back to the top of the agenda.
PSG’s sporting advisor Luis Campos is keen to reach an agreement before the transfer window closes and avoid any uncertainty dragging into the season. The main sticking point so far has been salary: Dembele has been pushing for a significant pay rise, while the club’s hierarchy have been reluctant to meet his full demands. With two years left on his current deal, the coming weeks are set to be crucial in deciding whether he commits his long-term future to PSG.
