Kaizer Chiefs name starting XI for Betway Premiership clash with Siwelele

Kaizer Chiefs return to Betway Premiership action on Sunday evening when they face Siwelele FC at Dobsonville Stadium, with the Soweto club naming its starting XI for the league encounter.

Chiefs have been out of action for a fortnight, having last played in a 2-2 draw against Richards Bay in Durban. That result extended their unbeaten league run to four matches since the appointment of coach Fernando da Cruz.

However, Chiefs have slipped to fourth in the Betway Premiership standings after AmaZulu FC defeated Richards Bay on Friday evening. They will therefore be looking to return to winning ways as they attempt to close the gap on the teams above them.

Siwelele FC arrive in search of their first victory of the season. The Bloemfontein-based side have recorded two draws and suffered two defeats in their opening four matches, leaving them 14th in the table before Sunday evening’s meeting.

The match is being played at Dobsonville Stadium on 06 September 2026.

Kaizer Chiefs have selected Petersen in goal, with Solomons, Kwinika, Miguel and Moloisane forming the defensive line.

Maboe and Ndlovu are included in midfield, while Shabalala, Mmodi and Vilakazi are set to operate behind Duba.

Kaizer Chiefs starting XI: 1. Petersen, 18. Solomons, 4. Kwinika, 84. Miguel, 41. Moloisane, 6. Maboe, 8. Ndlovu, 7. Shabalala, 13. Mmodi, 38. Vilakazi, 37. Duba.

The Chiefs substitutes are Leaner, Frosler, Cross, Mthethwa, Mtasingwa, Chislett, Ighodaro, Baartman and Abrahams.

Kaizer Chiefs substitutes: 16. Leaner, 39. Frosler, 48. Cross, 5. Mthethwa, 22. Mtasingwa, 23. Chislett, 77. Ighodaro, 11. Baartman, 35. Abrahams.

Siwelele FC’s starting line-up had not been confirmed at the time of publication.

Chiefs’ recent unbeaten run has provided a solid foundation for Da Cruz, but their latest league outing ended without a win. The result against Richards Bay extended their unbeaten sequence while also leaving them with ground to recover after AmaZulu FC’s victory altered the standings.

Siwelele FC face a difficult task as they continue their search for a first league win of the campaign. With four matches played and four points collected through two draws, the Bloemfontein outfit begin the contest in 14th place.

The Betway Premiership fixture between Kaizer Chiefs and Siwelele FC takes place at Dobsonville Stadium on Sunday evening.
