Ahead of PSG’s upcoming Champions League clash with Chelsea, Nasser Al-Khelaïfi, the club’s president, is employing a unique method to inspire his players. Following their 3-1 victory at the Parc des Princes, PSG holds a favorable position in the quarter-final tie. Al-Khelaïfi aims to reinforce their determination by offering a substantial financial incentive.
Reportedly, according to Le Parisien, Al-Khelaïfi is prepared to grant each player a bonus of €450,000 should PSG eliminate Chelsea from the Champions League. The players have already met the criteria to receive this bonus: €150,000 for reaching the round of 16, €150,000 for reaching the quarter-finals, and potentially €250,000 for reaching the semi-finals.
Moreover, if PSG progresses to the final and secures victory, each player stands to gain €1 million. Al-Khelaïfi’s incentives extend beyond the Champions League, with a promise of €400,000 to each player in the event of winning the Ligue 1 title, which appears imminent. PSG is on the verge of clinching the domestic championship, likely to be confirmed in their upcoming match next Sunday.
