Pitso Mosimane praises Oswin Appollis and Relebohile Mofokeng after emphatic Bafana win

Pitso Mosimane singled out Oswin Appollis and Relebohile Mofokeng for praise after South Africa’s convincing 5-0 victory over Eritrea on Wednesday evening.

Bafana Bafana secured all three points with another dominant display, as Mosimane welcomed the attacking quality and unselfishness shown by his players.

Appollis was central to the result, supplying two assists as South Africa comfortably overcame their opponents.

“I’m happy with the two assists of Appollis, he can play anywhere on the side, centrally, good boy, good player and I’m happy with Appollis,” Mosimane said.

The Bafana coach also noted the role Appollis played in creating an opportunity for Luther Singh, who returned to the national team after a lengthy absence.

“He gave assists, he set up Luther Singh an opportunity to score on his comeback, he’s been out for a long time to score,” Mosimane added.

Singh also contributed to the team’s attacking performance, creating two chances with his own deliveries. For Mosimane, that reflected a strong sense of unity within the squad.

“Even Luther gave two balls [created chances], it shows the players are together, no selfishness and together,” he said.

Although Appollis made a significant impact, Mosimane offered especially strong praise for Orlando Pirates forward Mofokeng, who again demonstrated his ability at international level.

“Rele has showed his class, what a class, Rele is a top player,” Mosimane said.

The comprehensive victory extended another encouraging outing for Bafana Bafana under Mosimane. Appollis’ creativity and Mofokeng’s performance added to the positive signs in attack before South Africa face Egypt on Sunday at the Cairo International Stadium.
