Pitso Mosimane names 38-man Bafana Bafana squad for Kenya qualifiers

Bafana Bafana head coach Pitso Mosimane has named a preliminary 38-man squad for next month’s African Cup of Nations qualifying double-header against Kenya.

South Africa will face Benni McCarthy’s side twice, with Mosimane looking to build on an impressive start since taking charge of the national team.

Bafana Bafana began that run with a 2-1 victory over Guinea before recording a 5-0 win against Eritrea. They then secured a 1-0 victory in a friendly in Egypt.

Aden McCarthy has been included after a strong run of performances for Sabah FK, particularly in the UEFA Champions League.

Boitumelo Radiopane is also part of the preliminary selection, while Luke Le Roux and Mbekezeli Mbokazi return to the squad.

Mosimane will need to reduce the group before the final squad for the two qualifiers is confirmed.

The selection also includes uncapped players Nkosikhona Radebe of AmaZulu and Nqaba Xulu of Richarsds Bay.

The full preliminary Bafana Bafana squad is:

Aden McCarthy, Boitumelo Radiopane, Luke Le Roux, Mbekezeli Mbokazi, Nkosikhona Radebe and Nqaba Xulu, among others.
