Moussa Kone: Ivorian midfielder joins Jong Genk from FC San Pedro on loan

Ivorian midfielder Moussa Kone has joined Belgian side Jong Genk from FC San Pedro on loan, completing a move that takes the 18-year-old into the Challenger Pro League.

Kone, who plays as a central midfielder, made the switch on 3 September 2026. The agreement will keep him with Jong Genk until the end of the 2026-27 season, after which he is scheduled to return to FC San Pedro.

The move brings the teenager to Belgium after his involvement with FC San Pedro in the CAF Confederation Cup. Kone made nine appearances in the competition, playing a total of 716 minutes.

Born on 25 August 2008, Kone is a Cote d’Ivoire international by nationality and joins Jong Genk at the age of 18. His arrival adds a young central midfield option to the club’s squad as the Belgian season progresses.

Jong Genk compete in Belgium’s Challenger Pro League, while FC San Pedro are based in Cote d’Ivoire. The transfer therefore represents Kone’s move from African club football to a Belgian league environment, with the player now registered with the Genk side.

Kone’s current agreement with Jong Genk runs until 30 June 2027, when the loan spell is due to end.
