Kaizer Chiefs extended their perfect start to the DStv Diski Challenge with a 3-1 victory over AmaZulu FC on Saturday morning, making it seven consecutive wins.
The Soweto club arrived as the competition’s only side with a winning record after opening the campaign with six successive victories. They showed no signs of easing off as Neo Bohloko scored twice in the first half.
The striker’s brace took his total for the season to eight goals, putting him at the top of the scoring charts. Matala Makhubo then added a third for the league leaders after the interval to maintain their unbeaten run.
Kwanele Mbayi scored AmaZulu FC’s only goal, but it was not enough to prevent a seventh defeat in a row for Kaizer Chiefs’ opponents.
Richards Bay maintain winning momentum
Richards Bay also recorded consecutive victories by beating Kruger United 3-1 on Saturday.
The result handed Kruger United their fourth defeat of the season. Their difficult run has continued since they won their opening-day match against Marumo Gallants, with the club still waiting for another victory.
Durban City edge Siwelele FC
Durban City claimed back-to-back wins in the DStv Diski Challenge after defeating Siwelele FC 1-0.
The narrow victory followed their previous success and kept their momentum going in the competition.
Stellenbosch FC also returned to winning ways, securing a 1-0 victory against Milford FC on Saturday morning.
Chippa United held by TS Galaxy
TS Galaxy and Chippa United shared the points after playing out a 2-2 draw.
The result left Chippa United, known as the Chilli Boys, at the bottom of the DStv Diski Challenge table. They have won only one of their seven matches so far.
