Moussa Diarra deal moves closer as Le Havre AC negotiate with Alaves

Le Havre AC are edging closer to signing Mali international Moussa Diarra after the versatile defender reached an agreement with the French club over the terms of his proposed contract.

The 25-year-old has settled the personal details of a potential move to the Normandy side, marking a significant step in negotiations. Le Havre must now reach an agreement with Deportivo Alaves, where Diarra remains under contract until 30 June 2028.

Talks between the two clubs are continuing over the structure and conditions of the transfer. The discussions are understood to be progressing positively, with a final agreement increasingly considered possible, according to L’Equipe.

Diarra’s ability to operate in several defensive positions is a key part of his appeal to Le Havre AC. The club are looking to strengthen their defence before the start of the season and see the Mali international as an important addition to their squad.

Although an agreement between the player and Le Havre has already been reached, the transfer cannot be completed until the French club and Deportivo Alaves settle the remaining details. Those negotiations are now the central issue in the deal.

Diarra’s current commitment to the Spanish club runs through the end of June 2028. That contract means the two clubs must determine the financial and practical terms of his departure before the move can be finalised.

Transfermarkt estimates the defender’s value at €2m. If the outstanding points are resolved quickly, Diarra could soon formally join Le Havre AC.

The proposed move would take him from Deportivo Alaves to the French club after negotiations that have already produced progress on the player’s side. His versatility in defence is expected to provide Le Havre with additional options as they prepare for the new campaign.

Diarra currently earns an annual salary of €790,000 at Deportivo Alaves, equivalent to 513,500,000 FCFA. That figure forms part of the financial background to a transfer that is now dependent on an agreement between the two clubs.

For Le Havre AC, the priority is to complete the negotiations with Deportivo Alaves and secure the arrival of a player who can cover multiple defensive roles. For Diarra, the agreement over his future contract has already been reached, leaving the clubs to work towards the final terms of the transfer.
