Bafana Bafana set for November double-header against Kenya in 2027 AFCON qualifiers

South Africa will begin a two-match Africa Cup of Nations 2027 qualifying double-header against Kenya at Johannesburg’s Orlando Amstel Arena on Friday, 13 November 2026.

The match will kick off at 18:00, with Bafana Bafana then travelling to Nairobi for the return fixture on Tuesday, 17 November 2026.

The games will carry added significance for Kenya coach Benni McCarthy, who will face his country of birth for the first time since taking charge of the Harambee Stars. He will also come up against South Africa manager Pitso Mosimane on South African soil.

South Africa lead Group D after winning both of their Africa Cup of Nations qualifying matches in September 2026. Mosimane’s side opened the campaign with a 2-1 victory over Guinea in Johannesburg before recording a 5-0 win against Eritrea in Egypt.

The men’s national team also secured a 1-0 victory over Egypt in Cairo during the same period.

That run of results has helped Bafana Bafana climb the FIFA rankings. They are now 48th in the world and 10th among African nations.

Mosimane is expected to announce his preliminary squad in the coming days as South Africa prepares for the two meetings with Kenya.

Tickets for the Johannesburg fixture are priced at 100 rand for adults. Children aged between five and 12 can attend for 40 rand.
