Mohamed Salah urges Richarlison to choose Trabzonspor as Turkish deadline approaches

Mohamed Salah has intervened in Trabzonspor’s attempt to sign Richarlison, with the Turkish club continuing negotiations just hours before the country’s summer transfer window closes.

The Brazil international is considering his future as his position at Tottenham remains uncertain. His potential departure has become increasingly likely since the transfer window in England closed, leaving him with limited immediate options in the Premier League.

According to ESPN, Salah and his new Trabzonspor team-mate Fabinho have both spoken to Richarlison in recent days in an effort to persuade him to move to Turkey this summer. The pair are understood to have contacted the forward directly as Trabzonspor pursue a late agreement.

Richarlison appears open to starting a new chapter, with the player understood to feel that the current situation at Tottenham is not conducive to him remaining at the club. However, people close to the Brazilian are not particularly optimistic that a deal can be completed before the Turkish transfer market shuts on Friday evening.

Trabzonspor are still trying to reach an agreement with Tottenham over the proposed move. Their latest offer, worth 20m euros, was rejected by the English club, although the Turkish side has not ended its efforts to convince Tottenham to release the striker.

Should Trabzonspor fail to reach an agreement before the deadline, Richarlison could consider alternative destinations. One option would be a move to the Saudi Pro League, whose transfer window remains open until 12 October. Another possibility would be to wait until January, when the European transfer market reopens.

Richarlison’s time at Tottenham now appears to be nearing its conclusion, although the circumstances surrounding his possible exit are not expected to provide a straightforward end to the relationship.

The player and Tottenham’s management have reportedly disagreed over how negotiations have been handled in recent weeks. That dispute has left Richarlison disappointed with the stance taken by club officials as discussions over his future have continued.

His situation has also been affected by the manager’s decision on his role within the squad. Roberto De Zerbi has made clear that the Brazilian forward is not part of his plans for the current season.

Richarlison was subsequently instructed to train with Tottenham’s Under-21 side. He was then left out of the club’s registered squad for the Premier League, further underlining the uncertainty surrounding his future.

The developments have prompted Trabzonspor to accelerate their pursuit, with Salah and Fabinho now involved in the attempt to convince the player. The Turkish club must nevertheless find a solution with Tottenham before the domestic deadline if it is to complete the transfer immediately.

If no agreement is reached in time, the forward’s next move may be delayed until either the Saudi Arabian window closes in October or the European market reopens in January.
