Al-Nassr captain Cristiano Ronaldo has left supporters trying to work out the meaning of an unusual gesture after his side’s 1-0 victory over NEOM in the Saudi Pro League.
The match took place on Tuesday at Al-Awwal Park in Riyadh, with Al-Nassr securing all three points in the 10th round of the competition. Ronaldo completed the game but did not produce his best performance and missed a penalty in first-half stoppage time.
After the final whistle, Al-Nassr posted a video on its official account on X showing Ronaldo making the unexplained gesture as he left the pitch.
The club accompanied the footage with the question: “Ronaldo asks you: Guess… what is this?”, prompting supporters to offer their own interpretations in the comments. However, no clear explanation emerged.
The post was published on 21 October 2026 and quickly drew attention because the gesture was not explained by either Ronaldo or the club. Rather than clarifying what the Portugal forward intended, Al-Nassr’s wording invited fans to speculate about the meaning behind the signal.
Despite missing the penalty, Ronaldo stayed on the field until the end of the match and was not substituted. Al-Nassr’s narrow win over NEOM maintained the focus on the result, although the unusual video became the main talking point among supporters after the game.
Ronaldo has also been linked with a possible 20% stake in Al-Nassr in the coming period. That possibility comes as US company RedBird Capital, which owns AC Milan, is reportedly seeking to acquire 70% of the Saudi club’s shares.
The Portuguese forward has made 10 appearances for Al-Nassr since the start of the current season. He has scored five goals during that period, giving him an average of one goal every two matches.
