Memphis Depay: Netherlands forward at Corinthians linked with surprise move to Corum FK

Memphis Depay, the Netherlands international forward currently at Corinthians, is being linked with a summer move to Turkish Super Lig side Corum FK as he approaches the final week of his contract in Brazil.

The 32-year-old, who also holds Ghanaian nationality, is out of contract with the Sao Paulo club on 31 July 2026, raising the prospect that Corum FK could secure a high-profile free transfer if talks progress. Depay’s current market valuation is €7m, but his expiring deal means Corinthians risk losing him without a fee.

Depay joined Corinthians in September 2024 after leaving Atletico Madrid and has since added further silverware to an already decorated career, helping the club win the 2025 Brazilian Cup with three goals in that campaign. He was also part of the side that lifted the Supercopa do Brasil in 2026 and the Campeonato Paulista in 2024-25.

This season he has featured intermittently, making eight league appearances in Serie A with one goal and limited starts, a reduced role that could make a departure more palatable for Corinthians’ hierarchy. Corum FK, meanwhile, are looking to strengthen their attack with proven experience as they seek to establish themselves in the Super Lig.

Depay’s career peak saw his market value reach €55m, with major honours including the 2016-17 Europa League with Manchester United and the 2022-23 Spanish title with Barcelona. His potential switch to Turkey would add another chapter to a journey that has already taken in top flights in England, France, Spain and Brazil.

For now, the forward remains contracted to Corinthians until the end of July, with his future expected to be clarified once formal discussions over his next move accelerate.
