Manchester City assess €50m Ibrahim Mbaye deal as PSG set asking price

Manchester City have made official approaches to Paris Saint-Germain to establish the conditions for a possible move for Senegal international Ibrahim Mbaye.

The Premier League club are looking to strengthen their attacking options in case Savinho leaves and have begun assessing the 18-year-old forward, according to transfer specialist Krrish.

Paris Saint-Germain are not prepared to let Mbaye depart for a nominal fee. The French club are believed to be seeking a total package of about €50m (£43m) before considering a transfer.

Mbaye is understood to view a move to the Premier League positively. He regards England’s top flight as an ideal destination for the next stage of his development, although Manchester City have not yet made a final decision on whether to proceed.

Several other English clubs are also monitoring the situation. However, none has yet taken the next step by submitting an offer or entering concrete discussions with Paris Saint-Germain.

That leaves Manchester City as the most advanced club in the emerging race for Mbaye. Their current work is focused on evaluating the possible deal before deciding whether to make a formal move.

Mbaye remains under contract with Paris Saint-Germain until June 2028, giving the club a strong negotiating position. His profile has also helped him attract significant attention in the transfer market despite his age.

The forward is currently valued at €30m by specialist website Transfermarkt, although Paris Saint-Germain’s reported valuation is considerably higher. The club’s €50m demand would therefore represent a significant premium on that estimate.

Mbaye earns €910,000 per year at Paris Saint-Germain, equivalent to 591,500,000 West African CFA francs.

Manchester City’s interest is linked to the possibility of Savinho’s departure, with the English club considering attacking reinforcements as part of their planning. Mbaye’s age, contract length and willingness to consider the Premier League are all factors in the current assessment.

For now, no transfer has been agreed and Manchester City are still weighing up their options. Paris Saint-Germain have made clear the level of financial commitment they would expect, while other interested English clubs have yet to turn their monitoring into offers or substantive negotiations.
