Mamelodi Sundowns sign Thabang Matuludi after Khuliso Mudau injury

Mamelodi Sundowns have signed Thabang Matuludi from Polokwane City, adding another right-back to their squad following Khuliso Mudau’s recent injury.

The African champions confirmed the deal after Matuludi had been linked with both Soweto clubs, Orlando Pirates and Kaizer Chiefs. Sundowns have won the race for the defender’s signature.

Matuludi had not made an official appearance for Rise and Shine since the start of the season, leading to widespread belief that his move to one of the country’s leading clubs was imminent.

His arrival comes shortly after Sundowns announced Deano van Rooyen as a new right-back. Van Rooyen joined after parting ways with Orlando Pirates.

The Tshwane club now have four available players competing for the position, with Matuludi joining van Rooyen, Zuko Mdunyelwa and Thapelo Morena. Once Mudau returns from injury, head coach Miguel Cardoso will have five right-backs to choose from.
