Ludovic Mendy: Franco-Senegalese right-back joins SO Romorantin on free transfer

Franco-Senegalese defender Ludovic Mendy has joined SO Romorantin on a free transfer from Vierzon B, becoming the National 2 side’s latest addition at right-back.

The 23-year-old arrives after a spell with Vierzon’s reserve set-up, where he moved in 2023 following his time at Entente SSG. His switch to Romorantin is a permanent deal after his previous contract came to an end, with the club bringing him in to strengthen their options on the right side of defence.

Mendy, who can operate as a right-back, has already gained experience in the French lower leagues, featuring in National 1 Group B and across several National 2 groups earlier in his career. Over those campaigns he accumulated more than 10 senior appearances and over 900 minutes of competitive action, as well as game time at under-19 level in the national youth championship.

Born on 18 August 2002, Mendy came through the youth systems at ASSOA, Bretigny and Entente SSG before earning a move into the Troyes academy, progressing from their under-17s to under-19s. He later returned to Entente SSG, advancing from the B team into the senior squad, which gave him his first foothold in the national divisions.

His latest move to Romorantin, confirmed on 24 July 2026, sees Mendy continue his career in National 2 Group H as part of the Sologne club’s defensive unit.
