Liverpool are considering a €50m bid for AS Monaco and Senegal midfielder Lamine Camara during the winter transfer window, according to Tuttomercatoweb.

The Reds are understood to be looking for reinforcements in midfield and have identified the young Senegal international as one of their main targets. His ability and potential in the centre of the pitch have reportedly convinced Liverpool’s recruitment team that he should be pursued when the market reopens.

A fee of €50m would be intended to persuade Monaco to part with one of their important players in the middle of the season. However, it remains to be seen whether the Ligue 1 club would be willing to sanction a departure during the winter window.

Liverpool’s interest follows a summer in which Camara was also close to leaving Monaco. Chelsea held discussions over a deal for the midfielder, and the move appeared to be progressing before ultimately collapsing.

Since then, Camara has continued to attract attention from a number of clubs, strengthening his reputation across the European transfer market. Should Liverpool turn their reported interest into an official offer, negotiations could develop quickly, although Monaco would still have to decide whether to release him this winter.

Camara is valued at €55m by Transfermarkt. His current contract with Monaco runs until 30 June 2029, while he earns €1,380,000 (£897,000,000 FCFA) per year in France.

The midfielder’s immediate focus remains with Monaco, who are due to face FC Nordsjaelland in their fourth match of the league phase of the UEFA Europa Conference League.
