Idriss Fares: Franco-Algerian winger joins Racing CFF on free transfer

Franco-Algerian winger Idriss Fares has joined Racing CFF on a free transfer from JA Drancy. The 24-year-old left-sided attacker moves to the National 1 club after a season with Drancy in National 2.

Fares, who can represent both France and Algeria, arrives at Racing CFF as a left winger and will link up with the side ahead of the 2026-27 campaign. The deal sees him make an immediate step up a division, switching from National 2 Group E to National 1 Group A.

The move marks a return to Parisian football for Fares, who previously spent time with Paris FC’s reserve side. He joined JA Drancy in 2025 from Belgian club UR La Louviere, also on a free transfer, and has now earned another move without a fee changing hands.

Before his spell in Belgium, Fares had built his senior career across the Paris region, moving from FC 93 Bobigny to Paris FC B in 2022. That came after leaving JA Drancy’s youth ranks in 2021, having earlier developed at LOSC Lille at under-19 level.

Still in his mid-twenties and with experience in both French and Belgian lower divisions, Fares now takes the next step with a club competing in the third tier of French football. The winger’s switch from JA Drancy to Racing CFF is confirmed as a permanent free transfer.
