Golden Arrows and Kaizer Chiefs name starting XIs for Betway Premiership clash

Lamontville Golden Arrows and Kaizer Chiefs have confirmed their starting line-ups for their Betway Premiership meeting at Mbombela Stadium.

The fixture has been moved to Nelspruit after stadiums in KwaZulu-Natal were unavailable. The venues that were available could not accommodate the expected number of supporters.

Golden Arrows made a strong start to the campaign by reaching the MTN8 semi-final and remaining unbeaten across their first four league matches. However, they have since gone three games without a victory.

They lost to Mamelodi Sundowns in the second leg of their MTN8 semi-final and again in the league, before drawing 1-1 with Siwelele FC. Those results leave the KwaZulu-Natal club eighth in the table with seven points from six matches.

Kaizer Chiefs are fourth on 12 points after six league games and remain unbeaten in the competition. Amakhosi have recorded three wins and three draws, although they are eight points behind leaders Mamelodi Sundowns while having played two matches fewer.

The teams have already met this season in the MTN8 quarter-final, when Golden Arrows secured victory. Across their past six league meetings, Arrows have won three times, Chiefs twice and one match has ended level.

Golden Arrows start with Mbanjwa in goal, behind Shezi, Agnikoi, Mabaso and Maluleka. Dlamini, Maxwele, Zwane, Khumalo, Dion and Sithole complete the line-up.
