Benin U20 international Germaine Honfo says she is pleased to have gained valuable experience at the Women’s U20 World Cup, despite her side’s early elimination.
Benin began the tournament with a draw against Mexico before suffering successive defeats by Argentina and Poland.
Speaking on Friday evening after the loss to Poland, Honfo focused on the opportunity to compete at the highest level rather than the disappointment of the result.
“It is an experience and I am very happy to have lived through this experience because I have experienced the highest level. I am not setting myself any limits. In any case, perhaps next year I could find myself at the World Cup again,” she said in comments shared on social media.
