Gabriel Orok: Nigerian winger joins Qadsia SC on free transfer from Swehly
Nigerian winger Gabriel Orok has joined Kuwaiti side Qadsia SC on a free transfer from Libyan Premier League club Swehly.
The 25-year-old left-sided attacker has signed a deal running until 30 June 2027 after leaving Swehly at the end of last season. He arrives in Kuwait with a current market valuation of 300,000 and experience across several North African leagues.
Orok, who prefers to operate from the left flank and cut inside on his right foot, moved to Swehly in January 2026 from Egyptian club Al-Ahly. During his time in Libya, he produced some of the most productive numbers of his career, scoring nine goals in 26 league appearances in the Libyan Premier League.
Before his spell in Libya, Orok built a solid CV in African club football. He first came to wider attention with Enyimba in the Nigerian Professional Football League, where he made 48 appearances, and later moved to Egyptian side El Mahalla on a free transfer in October 2022. A loan to Libyan outfit Al-Nasr followed in 2023, during which he featured in domestic championship play-offs and continental qualifiers.
Across league, play-off and cup competitions, Orok has amassed more than 140 senior appearances, including outings in both the CAF Champions League and CAF Confederation Cup. His goal return has been particularly notable in league campaigns in Libya and in various qualifying play-offs.
Qadsia SCs capture of Orok adds another experienced wide option to their attacking unit as the Kuwaiti club looks ahead to the 2026-27 campaign, with the Nigerian tied to the club for the next year.
